Using Hull University e-library
I want to provide some information about using the e-library of Hull University. First of all you visit the e-library of Hull University at: http://zc7xc9dq8b.search.serialssolutions.com/?V=1.0&L=ZC7XC9DQ8B&N=100&SS_searchTypeJournal=yes&S=SC&C=BU0287. You will see the following screen
Exhibit 1: Home page of e-library with an index of journals (with the corresponding url links)
From the e-library homepage, I now click on the link of "Academy of Entrepreneurship journal" and I am directed to the Athens login page, as follows:
Exhibit 2: Athens login page
You need to key in your Athens user ID and password at this stage. Next, you are in the homepage of the Journal of Academy of Entrepreneurial Journal, as follows:
Exhibit 3: Home page of "Academy of Entrepreneurial Journal"
If you now click on "View most recent issue", you will see the following screen:
Exhibit 4: Current issue of the journal with options to download articles in pdf
Alternatively, you could click on a link in Hull U. e-library to navigate to one of the main academic publisher's website, such as Emerald, see the screen below:
Exhibit 5: Homepage of Emerald
In this case, you need to click on Athens/ Institutional login to access journal articles. If you have already keyed in Athens ID and password, you still need to click on the Athens login link so as to activate the login. In this case, you will be able to access journal articles without actually key in Athens ID and password again because the computer system still has "memory" of your previous login information (ie User ID and password).
At this stage, you will be able to access journal articles, and this is indicated with the ticks in the webpage screen, as shown in Exhibit 6 below:
Exhibit 6: An example of a journal webpage with ticks to indicate authorization to access articles
In short, the Hull e-library provides a journal index for you to locate the journal(s) that you are interested in. In the process, you are required to login with your Athens ID and passwords, sometimes by the computer system direct, sometimes by your own initiative to click on the Athens login option in academic journal publishers' websites.
I would recommend you to learn more about using Hull e-library with your own exploration efforts.
