Choosing a university offer for further study

From a query of student who intends to take up further study overseas: In my view, the selection of university offers could be based on the following factors: (a) career prospect; (b) research interest; (c) short-term financial consideration, and (d) ease of settlement in campus life. I do not know your weighting to these 4 factors. Based on my understanding, students from Mainland appear to prefer Universities from USA. If financing of study is vital, then a university offer that involves the smallest amount of money spent will be more attractive. Ease of settlement in campus life is also important: do you think you could get along well with people in a particular university? Do you have friends in one of these universities? etc..  Try to review these factors and come up with your decision. I believe it is not a totally rational exercise.. do rely on your gut feeling a bit in your holistic decision-making process. I believe the answer of university offer choice is in yo

On Independent Study consultation session on April 27

On IS consultation session this Sat: purpose and preparation: The session for each student lasts for 8 minutes, mainly to review students' progress in topic investigation and report writing. I will try to make some comments and advice in the session to individual students. It is useful if students can bring along their report drafts to the meeting so that I can make some specific comments and advice. There is no mark to gain to attain this meeting as it is not an assessment exercise with scores granted.
