Orientation workshop on plagiarism, and others

My 1-hour presentation on plagiarism in  coming BA degree orientation workshop will cover the follwing 2 blog articles:

I will also make use of a refereed journal article for illustration in my presentation.


Some advices to new students:

  1. Form facebook group to support each other during the study and beyond
  2. Discussion with fellow classmates on course materials is encouraged.
  3. Try to learn how to use e-library and read academic articles
  4. Need to develop independent thinking
  5. Do not study in a rush; learn how to learn effectively
  6. Do not just study powerpoint notes; study textbooks and academic articles
  7. Aim at graduation with at least a second class lower; forget about just getting a bare pass or getiing a third-class hon.
  8. Study passed exam papers is good to develop understanding of subjects' requirements
  9. Do not plagiarise nor self-plagiarise
  10. Develop writing skill
